The music part of the program concludes with examples of “Chamamé”. The literature segment presents poetry by Rosario Castellanos read by the author herself.
It's the flamenco piano show with some truly great piano playing! Kristina and flamenco/jazz pianist/composer Sergio Pamies talk about the concept of "phoning in your performance" for a CD track and how that affects the creative process.
Tonight we had the great pleasure to debut the new Echo Chamber – Around the World In Dub – Vol. 1 & 2 album! That’s right. After months of tracking down some great music and asking artists to join the project, collecting and mastering the tunes, and some hours on artwork, the album was officially released on Bandcamp.com on July 5th. On the program tonight we played the entire Volume 1 of this compilation album, featuring: Bandulu Dub vs Nahuatl Sound System, Leah Rosier, Zion Train, Ras Amerlock, Dubmatix, Dubsalon, Citizen Sound, McPullish, Eating Betty, Madtone, Funk Dub Division, and Mutant Frogs. But the vol. 1 of the Echo Chamber album filled just the middle hour of the 3 hour show; there was so much more… This included the new Musical Road In Dub album from Najavibes (mixed by Mad Professor and Gussie P); the excellent “Temptation” album from Ras Sis Highness; Sir Oliver Skardy’s “Mambo Nero” single; “Delayrium” from Jah Acid Dub, and the Italian Dub Community Showcase – V.4.
