Opening today's program with music out of the Charleston, S.C. area by a fresh group with the name of 'Ranky Tanky'.  Then I feature a variety of songs from Buffy Ste.-Marie and Harry Manx, before returning to Fode' Bangoura who was featured on last week's program before his appearance with dancers at The Cedar.  Staying on in Africa you can hear a couple takes from Zimbabwean giant, Oliver Mtukudzi.  A couple big name Afro-beat stars out of Nigeria are featured before an extended tribute set to the recently departed South African jazz giant, Hugh Masekela !

Back-to-back on the playlist after the half, you'll find The Skatalites' "Passing Through" next to a 60 Channels tune sampling a guy's voice as he says "S'me y'know, just pass'n through."  Absolutely unplanned, I kid you not! Highlights also include the EC debuts of The Titanians, The Spy From Cairo, and Templo, plus new circa-2018 Bogtrotter, and a Drastics dub release we completely slept on throughout 2017… how's that even possible?  You're going to be hearing more of "Noir Dub" in coming weeks, guaranteed! 'Til next time, na-na hey-hey… m-m-mmmmah!

During the first hour, we had the pleasure to receive some of the wonderful staff of the French American School of Minneapolis (formely known as The French Academy).

Veronique Liebmann (Founder and head of the school), Claude Devery (Teacher), Chloe Lorentz (Student) and Romain Lorentz (Parent).
