August is Abbey Lincoln Month on the Collective Eye. Born August 6, 1930, Ms. Lincoln has created a jazz lexicon of vocalization and it is astounding how few people are aware of her recordings. Tonight’s program also pays homage to another formative musician, Mr. Issac Hayes, whose untimely demise earlier this week rocked the RB world. Walk Good Mr. Hayes!
