Eclectic

A little tiny bit of scary-themed music with Tino’s Hallowe’en Dub, local group The Very Idea!, and even a spooky-sounding track, Guardasecretos, from the new Cordero album, De Donde Eres. We heard new Ani DiFranco, Nikka Costa, and a lovely, down-tempo treatment of The Cure by The Postmarks.

Tonight, as part of KFAI’s fall pledge drive, the Echo Chamber presented The French Dub Connection special. Great modern dub and roots from the likes of High Tone, Kaly Live Dub, Volfoniq, Mayd Hubb, Piratedub, Kanka, and others. Plus, some great vintage roots from the late Serge Gainsbourg (with Sly Robbie, the I-Threes, and others) and a bit of French ska. Vive la France!

Pledge Drive edition #2: Ellen came by from Womenfolk:http://www.kfai.org/node/123 to have fun with us Tuesday morning. We (appropriately, I might add) heard new music from the All-Girl Summer Fun Band, Mavis Staples, and one Ellen brought in: Ruby Dee and the Snakehandlers. We also heard from a lot of wonderful folks coming during the home stretch of KFAI’s fall pledge drive. Thank you for tuning in, and thank you for your support! Check out the playlist for more new music.
