Today’s program carries on from last week’s focus on South Africa as a continuation expanding out to even more voices & styles of music from Africa.

“Christmas In Dub” (Part 1)

Kicking off the yuletide season in style…. Lots of Christmas reggae from the likes of Alton Ellis, Granville Williams Orchestra, Toots & the Maytals, Horace Andy, Likkle Mai, Yellowman, Jah Iriest Artists, The Tamlins, Michelle Gordon, Brent Dowe, Joe Gibbs & the Professionals, and more… Even a nice new reggae cover of “Silent Night” from Noble Vibes. On top of this we mixed in some classic and new Christmas and seasonal sounds (mostly remixed) from Mel Torme, Berlin Symphony Orchestra, Teresa Brewer, Redtenbacher’s Funkestra, Skafish, Vince Guaraldi Trio, Rosemary Clooney, Johnny Mercer, Ed Calle/Arturo Sandoval, and Billie Holiday. But with a Christmas show this week and next, we mixed in a bit of music that had nothing to do with the holidays…including Dubblestandart, Capital Letters, Jah Wobble/Bill Laswell, Richie Phoe, Ill:Esha, and Kid Creole & the Coconuts.

Matt Werner, aka DJ Dig Dug and Treehouse Records staff spun favorites. Comedian Mary Mack and Punk Poet Paul D. Dickinson joined us the 2nd hour to share songs, poems and comedy in advance of Mary Mack’s Holiday Show and Meat Raffle and Dog Sweater contest at the Cedar Cultural Center.

Flight of the Bumble Bee, Part 2 – light-hearted sci-fi from the Radio Repertory Company of America. Starring Marina Sirtis (Star Trek: TNG).
And short silliness from Fearless Comedy Productions’ Big Fun Radio Funtime!

DJ Musically Rich takes control of the boards. Tune in next week to see if he continues his ongoing journey in the Temposphere Universe!

Episode #436 – 8th Annual Fab Four(th) Dimension!
