The first of two consecutive DJ Baby Swiss solo outings saw him “pouring dubbles” almost all night, and including coming-to-towners The Selecter, currently touring their 2013 release “String Theory” (the tour hits The Cedar Fri. Sept. 13), and Jimmy Cliff, who brings plenty of musical “Rebirth” to First Avenue on Thur. 9/19, as well as Nye’s regulars The Dropsteppers. Stylistically, the rootical dub of the Skatalites, the ’70s electronics of Jean-Michel Jarre, the jungle and dubstep of Congo Natty, the hot-club techno-gypsy-jazz of Caravan Palace, and even bossa nova a la Lionel Hampton were represented, as well as the classy big-band revisionism of Dr. Buzzard’s Original Savannah Band with the inimitable swooping, soaring singing of Cory Daye… all in a program that made liberal use of KFAI’s notorious Outboard Soundboard (a.k.a. the “Black Hole”). Truly all-over-the-map in a way that Swiss’s alter-ego DJ Weston East could appreciate.

From the Mark Time Radio Show for 2013, Great Northern Audio presents The Sword in the Couch, a TV sitcom for radio. Urban fantasy in a silly format.
And a short from the Big Fun Radio Funtime!, Fearless Comedy’s show at the Bryant Lake Bowl, we have You Bet Your Husband, a game show for geeks.
