Today's program opens with a couple Dave Van Ronk classics leading into a few rare Harry Belafonte tracks – followed by some Dylan civil rights gems.  I come out of that period to Michael Franti & Spearhead and on to three locals Willie Murphy, Maria Isa and Jon Rodine.  The latter leads into a tribute to a lost West Bank community member Sarah Bowman – who sadly left us in recent weeks.

Once again all the ghouls, goblins, duppys, vampires, and dreads gathered with Dr. StrangeDub & DJ Baby Swiss in the Echo Chamber of Horrors for another Halloween in dub special! What a crazy dubwise hallowed evening in the chamber…with song titles like “How to Dub a Vampire”, “Horror Zone”, “Ghosts of the Gulag”, “Soundtracking Death”, “Skeleton Dance”, and even “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” from Bauhaus! Oh yeah, speaking of Bela Lugosi, he starts the show off with a snippet from “Darcula” with Dwight Frye as Renfield. But not only did the song titles fit the theme, so too did the names of a number of the artists, including Zombies of Death, Sinister 6, Omars Attacks, Infinite Third, and Man with the Spinning Face. (Thanks High Noon Records!). Also showing up in this witch’s brew of music and more were: Aldubb meets Big Finga, Mastermind XS, Raz Mesinai, David Pablo, Max Romeo, Tino Corp, Bob Marley & the Wailers, Elephant Man & Subatomic Sound System, Lee “Scratch” Perry, Aural Exciters, The Specials, YesKing, Pixyblink, Baroque Dub, The Manor, Ill:Esha, Pablo Gad, The Widdler, and more… Of course many soundbytes & effects in the mix as well, including the “Dracula”, “Frankenstein”, and “Exorcist” movies and many other bits that the doctor and Swiss dug up… What ghoulish fun!

Each new day brings opportunity to John Penny to "uncover new pathways to human expression through development as a guitarist and composer."  John taught himself how to play guitar and has been making beautiful music — really great music — eversince.
