A special night as the Echo Chamber presented our annual Beautiful Sounds of Women…Around the World special. In celebration of National Women’s History Month, and honoring International Women’s Day, we featured a great list of women singers players.
St Pat’s. We did hear Irish music this morning, and bands performing in the style of Irish music. We also heard the usual mix of roots, jazz, electronic, and indie rock—including LOTS of new and local tracks. If you like Branford Marsalis, Loney Dear, or Bonnie ‘Prince Billy, check out the playlist.
Once again Swiss goes solo as Dr. StrangeDub was returning from a trip to Michigan. And what a varied mix of rootical sounds…including: Jean Binta Breeze, KingRat, Sly Dunbar, Fishmans, Prince Fatty, I-Roy, Dry Heavy, Polara, Court Jester’s Crew, Dub Gabriel, Blue King Brown, and many more…
We heard no music about the depressing storm headed our way. We did hear new music from Bell Orchestre, Robyn Hitchcock, and a former member of Tiki Obmar, a local band that got attention a few years back. Brett Bullion is back in the Twin Cities, creating compositions under the name Tarlton. Listen up for a great soundscape to your crystal-snowy days.
