Collectors Corner: Ginja Strikes Back!

The Tom Malloys came by this week and Doug said to MJ, "Just let 'em play, we don't need to talk much."  Well I guess NOT!  It was quite the yak-fest and lots of fun with lots of traditional Irish music as well as original material.  They'll be back around St. Paddy's Day fer sure!

In the second hour, Cher Dial interviewed Adley Stump.

Tonight the Echo Chamber celebrated the 50th Anniversary of Jamaican Independence, and the incredible feats of the JA track team at the Olympics, in fine style. Our “Golden Jubilee Special” was pure Jamaican: plenty of classic early tracks; some fresh new singers & players; some righteous dubs; and a trio of songs honoring Jamaican Olympians. The show included: Derrick Morgan, Jimmy Cliff, Tommy James feat. L&S symfHoney, Cherine Anderson, Lone Ranger & Grant Phabao, The Jamaicans, Desmond Dekker, King Stitt & Owen Gray, U-Roy & The Paragons, Toots & the Maytals, Tommy McCook & Supersonics, Dubtonic Kru, Luciano, Ossie Hibbert, Bob Marley & the Wailers, Konshens, Impact All Stars, Lee “Scratch” Perry, Omar Perry, Jesse Royal, Ziggy Marley, Don Corleon, Bim Sherman, Ras Takura, Taurus Alphonso, Marcia Griffiths (with Dubblestandart), Dub Syndicate (feat. Capleton), Bushman, Peter Tosh, King Tubby, The Abyssinians, Prince Far I, Glen Brown, Joe Higgs, Lyn Taitt & the Jets, Justin Hinds & the Dominoes, Jackie Mittoo, Phil Pratt, Lloyd Charmers, and Scientist. And finally, to celebrate the successful landing of the Curiosity Rover on Mars, DJ Baby Swiss used the first letter of each track (from Glen Brown through Desmond Dekker) to spell out “CURIOSITY”.
