Well…this was a special that I’ve been planning on revisiting for quite some time: A Fistful of Dub: A Dread Western Special. The Echo Chamber heads out to the wild, wild west… The two anchors of the show (and the two items that were the germ of the project) were Roots Control’s fantastic Dread Western album, and the Morricone soundtrack to the spaghetti western The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly.
Tonight’s show was a dubwise worldwide trip — with the excellent Six Degrees Records as the featured label. The Six Degrees segments of the journey took us to India, Brazil, Iran, Spain, Algeria, and the U.K. The rest of the show took us to Sweden, France, Jamaica, and the good old U.S. of A.
Tonight’s show highlighted two excellent dub record labels: Jarring Effects from France and Tanty Records from the U.K. Between these 2 labels we filled an hour with 10 tons of dub. But the good doctors of dub were just getting started…
Another dub-heavy installment of the Echo Chamber… And tonight we did something a bit out of the ordinary — we featured a bunch of live recordings, including All India Radio live in Chicago 2007, Mad Professor live in Chicago 2007, and Jah Wobble live in Holland 1983.
