Thanks to Andy Arsham for filling in last week while I was in DC. I picked up some Thievery Corporation while I was in their hometown, including a great compilation of artists they put together to benefit an open clinic in the DC area, The Underground Sound of DC. We also heard Zappa every hour in honor of Earl Root, and we heard Utah Phillips, including a song he wrote performed by The Sorry Muthas. We lost two heroes of music on May 23rd in Earl and Utah Phillips, and we are blessed for having shared in their passion for sharing sounds and stories with us.

Another week of great new dub music… Starting things off was the excellent Back to Mt Zion from McPullish:http://www.mcpullish.com (and featuring Luciano, Chezidek, Fantan Mojah, and others). This was followed by new and recent releases from Tsunami Wazahari, Pale Rider, DubXanne, and Sardinia Bass Legalize.

Andy piloting the mothership in lieu of Pam on a beautiful spring morning. Er, it was a beautiful morning before it got really cloudy—if you were awake at 5:30 you’d have seen it too.
