We heard new music from Molly Venter, who had come up from Austin just a few days before for my first Roots Night at the Acadia. Local singer-songwriter Brianna Lane made the connection—thanks Brianna! Tune in for more news from Brianna on PWB in October. To find out more about what we heard, check the playlist. RIP Isaac Hayes and Bernie Mac.

There was so much new music in stores this week, a lot of the show was spent with just the day’s new records: Conor Oberst, Carrie Rodriguez, Sidestepper…which one lucky listener got mailed out to him! So we didn’t get to hear the Humble Pie inspired by the Frampton special, but in honor of the new music influenced by the classics, it’s all all right, right?
