L.A. Nik is an author and entertainer known for his signature look and his persona as the “Mayor of Minneapolis After Dark.” Nik’s popularity in the midwest was cemented by a two-page cover story in Minneapolis' Star Tribune as well as a slew of morning shows and print stories after the 2013 release of his book, Life Is Short Then You’re Dead Forever.
L.A. Nik has been a constant cheerleader for the development of nightlife in downtown Minneapolis. He has sat on the board of the Hospitality Zone Assessment Group; A group that helps to guide and empower the community to harness the economic and social benefits of hospitality zones while minimizing their impact on government resources and residents’ quality of life. He has also been a volunteer at Hennepin County Medical Center and a speaker at Sanford Brown College.
In 2014, L.A. Nik was invited to throw out the first pitch for a Major League Baseball game between the Tampa Rays and the Minnesota Twins at Target Field. In 2015, L.A. Nik was featured in a Showtime Network documentary on comedian Pauly Shore where he recounts his friendship with Sam Kinison and Pauly Shore in the late 80s and early 90s.
Currently, L.A. Nik is working on a podcast which showcases clips from Minneapolis Police Dispatch in order to shed light on crime in the city of Minneapolis while offering up solutions to control it. Nik is also actively working with a major production company on a docu-series that features his character in Minneapolis.
