In May of 1978, a small radio station began broadcasting from the belfry of a community church, the dream realized of a handful of creative and smart people who thought there was room on the radio dial for local voices and music heard nowhere else.
35 years later, KFAI is STILL here because of YOU! Thanks to listener-members supporting an adventurous radio station run by volunteers, today KFAI's transmitter sits on top of the IDS Tower in downtown Minneapolis, broadcasting voices and music as authentic and unique as that first day in the belfry.
