Join co-hosts Laura Waterman Wittstock and Miguel Vargas as they catch the excitement of young Natives working to help prevent cancers, and fund activities among Indian people. Laura and Miguel talk with Kris Rhodes, Executive Director of the American Indian Cancer Foundation, Laura Keys, Community Health Worker with the Pink Shawls Project at the American Indian Cancer Foundation
and Julia Littlewolf, Community Organizer for Powwow for Hope
This is the first annual Powwow for Hope, “Dancing for life, love, & hope” to be held on Saturday, April 28th, 2012 at the midtown YWCA in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Powwow for Hope was created for all to come together to dance for life, love, and hope for our community. We will honor cancer survivors, caregivers and those who are currently fighting the fight. We will also be dancing in memory of so many people who we've lost to cancer.
This is a fundraiser with all proceeds being used to support cancer education and supportive services for American Indian communities.
