Romeo & Juliet - Metropolitan Ballet

Date:
Friday, February 14, 2014 - 7:30pm to Sunday, February 16, 2014 - 3:00pm

KFAI is proud to be the media sponsor of The Metropolitan Ballet’s presentation of “Romeo & Juliet", Friday, Saturday, and Sunday February 14-16 at the Auditorium at Hopkins High.

Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is the most recognized romantic tragedy in the history of literature. The original ballet score composed by Prokofiev takes the story telling to an emotional peak that cannot be described with words. The star-crossed lovers are entwined in the infamous struggle between two households- the Capulets and the Montagues. Impossible circumstances lead to the tragic death of these young lovers.

Guthrie luminaries Richard Ooms and Virginia Burke guest star in the dramatic roles of Prince of Verona and Lady Capulet. Vitali Krauchenka, formerly of ABT, returns to perform the role of Tybalt.
