KFAI Sponsors Leftover Salmon & The Big Wu at First Ave.
Saturday, November 16, 2013 - 8:00pm
Formed in Boulder Colorado in 1989, they were one of the first bluegrass bands to add drums and tour rock & roll bars and unwitting architects of the jam grass genre. Leftover Salmon has become a pillar of the jam band scene with their rootsy / Americana, string-based music. Looking back over the past 25 years of rootsy, string-based music, the impact of Leftover Salmon is impossible to deny. .
A little crazy and bit by a loon, The Big Wu has been creating music, touring the country, and playing midwest american roots music since 1992. Although they fit the jam band stereotype to a certain degree, their playful and rootsy attitude has more in common with the likes of Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen or NRBQ.
