Freewheelin’ First Friday Presents…

Cadillac Kolstad: 9pm
Cadillac Kolstad and his Minneapolis-based band are an american roots group that emphasizes boogie-woogie piano based jazz and rock & roll influences from up and down the Mississippi River. Cadillac and the band strive to keep Minneapolis’ West Bank, the same neighborhood made famous by the likes of John Koerner, Willie Murphy and Bob Dylan, rich music tradition alive. Performing at venues ranging from music festivals to radio & TV programs to your favorite hole in the wall club, the band is versatile and professional. Combining Cadillac Kolstad’s pounding piano with upright bass, drums and saxaphone, the band takes a fresh approach to classic American dance music. Drawing heavily upon generations of music history for their palette, the band melts down roots, rhythm & blues into a unified sound that is pure Americana.

The Liquor Pigs: 7pm
Aptly named, The Front Porch Swingin’ Liquor Pigs are a genuine good time. With a folk and country inspired sound, the Liquor Pigs (as they’re known to fans) cannot be pegged down to just one sound. On their third and possibly final release, Last Album, the boys mix their own songs with covers of some of their favorite local artists (Curtiss A and Charlie Parr, to name a few). This one has stayed a bestseller for many months, and rightly so.
