Twin Cities Poetry Party

Date:
Thursday, December 12, 2013 - 10:30am to 12:00pm

Please join us in the culminating celebration of Alzheimer’s Poetry Project-Minnesota’s first Twin Cities Poetry Project, and honor the creativity of participating poets and staff from Southwest Senior Center, Ebenezer-Minneapolis Adult Day Program, Heritage Park Senior Services Center, and Eastside Neighborhood Services' Friendship Center!

A highlight of the Party will be group performance of some poems created in the Project, plus audience creation of new poems. Joining the fun will be dancers from KAIROS ALIVE! and George Roberts from DownStairs Press at Homewood Studios in North Minneapolis, who will produce hand-printed letterpress broadsides of an original poem created at the Party for participants to bring home.

This free event is made possible by the voters of Minnesota, through a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council and thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund; and by the Dorsey Foundation.
