The American Indian OIC is a nonprofit organization committed to providing quality education, career training, and employment placement services for community members who experience unemployment and poverty. On September 29, 2013 the organization is hosting its annual Tuition Blues benefit concert and kindly requests a donation from your institution to support the event. Tuition Blues is taking place at the Famous Dave's in Calhoun Square and features an invocation by a Native American drum group, a barbecue dinner, three Blues music acts and a silent auction. All proceeds will benefit the American Indian OIC’s vocational education program, known as the Takoda Institute, which helps individuals acquire in-demand career skills and connect to gainful employment in a brief period. This year, the organization anticipates connecting 800 individuals living in poverty to employment through this model.
