Madeleine George’s magical and deeply moving play about communication, commitment, and connection is coming to the People’s Center in March. The former 13P playwright’s contemporary tale starring Brodie, a gifted linguist and single-mom-to-be-by-choice contemplates tough questions when Brodie finds that the baby she’s carrying will never be able to communicate via language. Failing to receive comfort from her young girlfriend, she finds connection in unlikely new friends--namely an ape at her local zoo, and Cleva--the last known speaker of a dying language. Precious Little will be produced at the People’s Center Theatre on the West Bank of Minneapolis, and runs March 21st-30th.
