Saturday, March 8, 2014 - 7:30pm
Part of the Oratorio Society of Minnesota’s 34th season, this concert features music featured in the popular PBS TV series Downton Abbey, including the Downton Abbey Suite by Emmy-winning composer John Lunn. The choir will also sing chestnuts of the English repertoire including music by Parry, Stanford, Vaughan Williams and Holst. Audience members will join in singing, as several scenes from the show will be reenacted live. The chorus will be accompanied by a professional chamber orchestra and St. Mark’s newly restored pipe organ. All concerts feature the 80-voice Oratorio Society Chorus and are conducted by Artistic Director Matthew Mehaffey.
