Weaving together diverse fiddle traditions and evocative songwriting with a strong rhythmic sensibility you wont want to miss this bow flying, boot stomping concert!

Performing February 12th 7pm at Walker Community Church $10 suggested donation at the door

Join them for an evening of original songs inspired by regional folk music traditions reflecting the couple's roots of opposite sides of the country. Johanna Davis grew up in Maine's rich fiddling community developing her rhythmic bowing style playing at contradances since age fourteen. Around the same age, Adam Nordell was playing in ska and reggae bands in western Montana. His guitar style blends the syncopated beat of that music with more traditional folk styles. The duo's lyrics are grounded in the landscape of Montana's mountains and Maine's rolling farm country. since 2008 they have begun a yearly touring schedule that has introduced Sassafras Stomp's music to audiences from Florida to Washington State, Montreal to San Diego. When not performing, Davis and Nordell run an organic vegetable and grain farm in Unity, Maine.
