John Munson and the Witnesses
Saturday, February 1, 2014 - 7:00pm
Few can claim to have worked in as many different styles as John Munson has over the course of his musical career. Performing in Trip Shakespeare in the late 80’s, the alt-rock group Semisonic in the 90’s, and The New Standards, and The Twilight Hours at present, he still finds time to be the musical director of ‘Wits’ on Minnesota Public Radio.
Munson performs alongside The Witnesses, four talented musicians from many different musical backgrounds. Janey Winterbauer of Astronaut Wife and numerous other collaborations lends her voice, Steve Roehm provides his vibraphone talents between his three bands and teaching job at MacPhail Center for Music, Richard Medek, a man of many talents and musical styles, offers his prowess behind the drums, and Joe Savage brings his numerous instrumental and musical talents, primarily using his trademark pedal steel guitar. Their mix of pop and jazz in this intimate setting will have fans singing and clapping to songs both familiar and new.
Tickets range from $21-$25. Please visit the box office section of our website for the concert seating chart.
