The Nobel Peace Prize Forum is a four day international event that inspires peacemaking by celebrating the work of Nobel Peace Prize winners. Attendees may purchase tickets for a single day or for all four days. The 2014 topic is Crossing Boundaries to Create Common Ground.
In probing the questions of peace and conflict, the Forum is not a “sit and listen” experience. During plenary sessions, attendees hear firsthand of the struggles and triumphs of Laureates and other internationally known keynoters. The dynamic Q&A following these presentations engages the global audience in the experience. Just as importantly, attendees participate in highly interactive break-out sessions dedicated to both policy and practice. Robust networking with other attendees from diverse backgrounds adds a highly individual dimension.
Global Day - Sunday, March 9th, 10:00 am - 5:30 pm (time subject to change)
Held at Augsburg College and the University of Minnesota West Bank, this day begins with an interfaith worship service and continues by examining wide topics that underpin human rights and peace. Culminating with the Laureate address by charismatic Nobel Laureate Leymah Gbowee, the day includes thought-provoking break-out sessions and a keynote address by Michael Posner. During the noon hour, attendees network with friends over their own brown bags or at a local restaurant. Discount student price is available to currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students.
