Join Seitu Ken Jones, Minnesota-based visual artist, in an evening of exploring ideas of food, equity, and community. Seitu will lead a discussion related to his new project, Spoken Remedy: The Community Meal, a nearly three-quarter mile long dinner table along the Central Corridor light rail line. Inspired by urban agriculture movements, Spoken Remedy: The Community Meal aims to support multi-perspective community conversations around consumption, marketing and production of food.
Seitu will encourage participants to think about their own stories and the meaning and power of food in their lives. In addition, he will share how communities are finding solutions to food inequity – access to local, affordable food – by relying on the multiplicity of traditions and voices in their communities.
$10 per person, includes light hors d’oeuvres
