The word "Imbizo" comes from the rich Zulu tradition of communities coming together to celebrate friendship, soul, and spirit. WISE invites you to join us for our Cultural Arts Imbizo community festival and fundraising event on Saturday, August 10th, 2013 from 11am-4pm.
The planning, organization, performances, film festival, food, cookbook and more was 100% planned by the students in our Summer Girls Getting Ahead in Leadership (GGAL) program.
Our goal this year is to fund raise for a van for WISE to safely transport girls from the after school activities to their homes.
We invite you to join us on this festive day. There is a line of performances from singing, dancing, to poetry and spoken word. Our Summer GGAL participants will also be debuting their mini-documentaries in our film festival. Craft tables, artwork, and cultural booths will be available for you to experience. In addition, there will be an array of ethnic/cultural foods for you to purchase and enjoy.
Below are the event details. This information is also on the attached flyer. Please forward them to your friends and invite your network.
