13th Annual Misel Lecture: Gravitational Waves: A New Window to the Universe

The 13th Annual Misel Family lecture that is FREE and OPEN to the public. This year’s speaker is Dr. Nergis Mavalvala from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Dr. Mavalvala will give a lecture entitled, “Gravitational Waves: A New Window to the Universe”. This talk will discuss the recent announcements of the first ever detections of gravitational waves from colliding black holes and neutron stars and how they have launched a new era of gravitational wave astrophysics. The lecture assumes no background in physics, simply an enthusiasm or curiosity for science.
