For eleven years, the US has waged war on Afghanistan---and the American people see little of this war's impact. Twin Cities member of VETERANS FOR PEACE, Steve Clemons visited Afghanistan last spring. He shares what he saw and experienced, as both national and local protests of the war are planned for OCT. 7th AND oct. 11TH. (see EVENT info below).

Despite claims that the U.S. is winding down the war in Afghanistan, tens of thousands of U.S. troops will stay there through 2014. The U.S. has plans to keep thousands of U.S. troops, contractors, CIA operatives, air power (including drones), there until 2024. Across the U.S., protests, vigils and other events will be held to mark eleven years of the U.S. war in Afghanistan with a call for an nd to the war.
