In response to the Sandy Hook Elementary Scool shootings and in the spirit of the deason's message of Peace On Earth: Bob Nechal of ALTERNATIVES TO VIOLENCE PROJECT from the Quaker organization FRIENDS FOR A NON-VIOLENT WORLD, for almost 30 years AVP has worked to build non-violent conflict resolution skills, peace education and to directly address violence in our society---going into prisons and communities across the country and around the world. SUSU JEFFREY is a lifelong Twin Cities peace activist, environemntalistand poet, whowill share her obsrevations and the recent vioence and read some of her poems. At 9:30 AM across the country, people will obsreve a minute of silence to honor the vicitms in Connetticut...and while we won't be silent, we will e part of that recognition---as will the community in an annual event Fri.Dec.28th (below).
