Craig Laurence Rice is a long established educator, diverse entertainment executive and an award-winning producer and director nationally recognized for his distinguished career in the television and film industry. He is the lead programmer of First Thursday Films @ The Capri and oversees the Minnesota Made program at the Film Society.

 

Destiny Davison is the educational coordinator at the Film Society of Minneapolis St. Paul. She works on the Film Society's Nextwave youth program as well as First Thursday Films @ The Capri. This Thursday, Dec. 7th, the Capri Theater will host a screening of the award winning film, ‘Moonlight’.

 

In our next segment we have Gary Hines, Music Director and Producer of the 3 time Grammy - Award winning group, Sounds of Blackness.

Sounds of Blackness Glorifies God by Uplifting People Through Black Music!

They've  performed for Kings & Queens, Presidents & Ambassadors at Concert Halls, Corporations, Schools,  Colleges, Community Centers and at festivals all over the World. Their music stylings range from Jazz to Rock & Roll to Spirituals as well as Hip Hop and R&B.

 

In the last segment of the show we are joined by Robin Hickman. Robin is the CEO and Executive Producer of SoulTouch Productions. SoulTouch Productions is a film and television production, youth mentorship, and media consulting company. Robin is also producing some upcoming shows at the Ordway Center for Performing Arts in St. Paul including Will Downing: Soulful Sounds of Christmas and Stokley Williams’ Twin Cities stop on his “Sonic Healer Tour”. Downing’s show is tonight at 7:30 p.m. and Williams performs on Dec. 10th

We speak with Sequoia Nagamatsu about his story collection Where We Go When All We Were Is Gone, a collection of twelve fabulist and genre-bending stories inspired by Japanese folklore, historical events, and pop culture. His work has in appeared in many publications, including Lightspeed MagazineThe Fairy Tale Review, and One World: A Global Anthology of Short Stories. He teaches creative writing at St. Olaf

We also talk with Gary W. Evans about his debut novel Death by Drowning, inspired by the series of drownings of young men near college campuses in the 1990s and 2000s. He has spent 30 years in Midwest newsrooms as an award-winning writer, editor and publisher.
